The Story:
Jairo Arcila is a producer we’ve purchased several lots from over the past two years. His coffee is exceptional and the variety is which he produces on his farms is truly mind-blowing. This decaf coffee is the most expensive decaf lot we’ve ever bought. It was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand sorted to remove any defects. The coffee was sun dried on raised beds in temperature-controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved. This decaffeination process is unique. The caffeine is extracted from the bean using sugar cane and water which enhances sweetness while maintaining the attributes your love with coffee.
This microdot is 100% castillo. The variety was developed by Federation Nacional de Cafeteros. It more productive than Catarrh and resistant to coffee leaf rust which can be devastating to coffee farmers.
