So I’ve been flat out through June and July so far.
It'’s been great fun but exhausting with many different things going on. We’ve served foreign dignitaries, developers, professional skateboarders, mental health groups, choirs, artists and our usual array of great looking regulars. We’ve had multiple latte art classes, brewing workshops, consultancy projects, beer festival’s and several food market’s.
Most exciting is that the top 1kg roaster on the market (IMO) has arrived at our training space at the beginning of June.
As a part of our partnership arrangement with One% Micro-lots who are now based at our Training Space in Islington Mill.
One% Micro-lots will be handling the UK distribution and servicing for Stronghold Technology. Mani Kelleher who is the founder of One% Micro-lots will operate separately and we’ll be collaborating on distribution of this product.
The Stronghold S7 Pro Smart Roaster is genuinely unlike any roaster out there. So many points of difference but we’ll have many more opportunities to talk about this fantastic roaster. So I won’t tell you why I love this machine so much just yet. Expect roasting workshop .
The Bad News…
The bad news is sadly that Andy left us to head northwards to the wonderful city of Edinburgh for a change of scenery and for a job opportunity with Machina Coffee. Just want to thank Andy for all the bits he did in setting up the cafe, organising the Yayu Project talk with Jeremy Torz and Union, baking croissants before opening at a stupid hour and all the bits you’d never know he was responsible for.
Genuinely, I couldn’t be more stoked to see him take a well-deserved 1st place at the Northern Heat of the AeroPress Championship and wish him nothing but the best of luck with his new start up in Scotland. Machina Coffee Roasters are very lucky to have him brewing up a storm and if you’re looking for training in Scotland. He is certainly the man to be talking to about that.
On a Positive Note..
Unfortunately, we couldn’t replace Andy. It would be stupid for me to say otherwise. However, Luke Gardner, whose a passionate music producer opening a studio in the city and who happens to love coffee. He’ll be the perfect guy to talk music with, he’ll make you a great brew and keep you entertained at the coffee bar on Monday’s. He’s a nice guy and cares a lot about doing a good job. So please stop by and show him a warm welcome.
Just wanted to give a bit of an update after a radio silence.
We’ve had 3 new roasters through the door’s since the last post. Each uniquely themselves and nothing but outstanding coffee from all of them. I may write a small piece about each roaster in a coming week’s.
Keep your eyes peeled for our next event.
Which will be at the end on the last Friday of August.
We’ve got a great talk organised for you, with beer and pizza on the cards.
We may even get some wine in for the occasion.
Look out for more details very soon.
Thanks for reading.
